CAL Flash and Full Flash

After the initial unlock and file flash, future updates can usually be installed using either a CAL Flash or a Full Flash.

CAL Flash

Use a CAL Flash when only calibration data has changed.

This includes changes to maps, tables, axes or calibration values without adding or removing patches.

Typical duration: Approximately 1 minute

Use a Full Flash when:

• a patch has been added,
• a patch has been removed,
• application software has changed,
• the boxcode or software version is being updated.

Typical duration: Approximately 5 minutes

Calibration changes only → CAL Flash

Patches added or removed → Full Flash

Software or version update → Full Flash
